The Dawg Pound
November 17, 2011 Yes, we've been out of public view lately. I even saw a “Lost Dawg” notice on the billboard of my local grocery store! But we've been in the laboratory with our resident “evil scientist,” getting ready for our open holiday party and working on some winter play dates at a location near you! Plus, yesterday we were offered a weekend “slot” at a local venue we “bet” will be a big hit! A great time is “in the cards!” And I promise not to use any more quotation marks for the rest of this newsletter! So please, read on! Next Three

We're trying something new this holiday season. I mentioned a couple of months ago we tend to play less in the last quarter of the year because our individual members have other irons in the fire. And it gets kind of lonely in The Pound when there aren't other butts to sniff. So we're making an excuse to get together with family and friends (and you qualify) to socialize, eat and drink together during the most festive time of the year. And while we're at it, we might just as well unpack the instruments and play a bit! Please join us at Marcine's in Mount Vernon (see the links above for more details) on Saturday, December 17. You, us, and the thriving municipality of Mount Vernon will all be on hand to celebrate whatever holiday juices your giblets! Electron Master Michael Mood has put the final touches on our most recent digital recording effort! During September and October we laid tracks for some of our best and most popular tunes; including Burning Love, Everybody's Everything, Fins and the newcomer, Pinball Wizard. Soon we'll have some samples available for you to hear on the website. These songs will spearhead an album project we hope to put together next year. Rumors and Other Musings
For the first time in over a decade, we are slated to be one of the bands to play at the Capital Brewery beer garden for the highly popular Friday night concert series! We don't know the exact date yet, but it is great the decibel issue which prevented us from being a part of this great Middleton tradition is no longer operative. Speaking of Capital Brewery, our annual summer bash is taking a new turn this year. We are collaborating with a special charity to make this a fund raising event for which I know you'll all be proud to participate. If things come together as we hope, some nationally known talent will be on hand to make this a jam session for the ages! Early yesterday morning we received an offer to play a Friday/Saturday in February at Ho-Chunk Gaming in Madison, also known as DeJope! We are almost giddy with excitement at this possibility! As soon as we confirm the dates I'll send you a separate email to let you know the details. I hope you'll help us spread the word so we can generate the best possible turnout!
